Routine Newborn Care

  • Suction Secretions
  • Keep warm and normothermic (36.5-37.5 C)
  • Oil bath the baby
  • Aseptic cord care
  • Credes prophylaxis
  • Vitamin K 1 mg IM
  • Monitor vital signs every 15 minutes until stable
  • Encourage breastfeeding
  • May room-in with mother once stable
